just life

i'm gonna start posting again, even though it doesn't really matter.

so life right now is pretty rad, i've just been hanging out and paying rent. i got an apartment with two rad people, alana edmondson and david lucken. i still work pretty steadily at Vans in the tacoma mall. i've made a few more awesome videos with my friends (i'll post the newest below). i have alot of goals for myself regarding the next year or so. i need to write them down somewhere.

so if you blog regularly and want me to start doing this more let me know. i don't wanna do this in vain.

cocoa puffs

aldous huxley had it quite right when he said, "there's only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self."

now, i'm sitting here thinking of all the things that i would love to change in others, communities, politics, countries, militaries, churches, media, etc. when i should actually be focusing on what i CAN change in me. my efforts to change others are in vain, because no matter what i do or say, the change they go through is in their own will. they made the changes, not i.

i struggle with keeping myself in check, i struggle with certain aspects of myself that i know should be improved. so what gives me the right to look at others and point out their faults?

"why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye." if we walk around with planks in our eyes telling others that they have sawdust in theirs' then we would certainly look like idiots. i'm guilty of this. everyday.

through meditating, reading, writing, dancing, walking, prayer, or whatever you do to reflect on your thoughts, you will be able to understand what your planks are and why they have blinded you. only then will you be able to look past the sawdust in others and see exactly what we should be looking at.
